To whoever at Nemo Equipment ends up reading this:
On July 18, 2023, I registered nemoequipment.ca through CIRA because it was unclaimed — sitting there, not pointed at anything. I had previously pointed it at a page listing your products because I genuinely want your products. It seemed like a reasonable way to make my case.
I did not register it to impersonate you, compete with you, or cause any trouble. And I want to be upfront: I'm aware that sitting on a brand's domain name is the kind of thing that tends to raise eyebrows. That's exactly why I'd rather have an honest conversation about it than let this linger indefinitely.
Here's the situation as I see it: you have a Canadian audience and a domain that clearly belongs in your portfolio. I have that domain, no intention of doing anything harmful with it, and a wishlist that says a lot about how I actually feel about your products. This is a genuinely unusual circumstance — not many people land on a brand's unclaimed country domain and then write them a letter about it. I'd like to think that counts for something.
I'm happy to discuss a transfer. The specifics are flexible — I'm not here to make this difficult. In return, I'd like to do a bikepacking trip with a close friend — something we've been loosely planning for a while but haven't had the gear to do properly. The list below is what that looks like.
